These works included everything from the initial enabling works, reinforced pile caps, foul water drainage and pumping station, surface water drainage with associated attenuation and deep well soak-away units, the 2000m2 reinforced concrete floor slabs.
Ovendens later returned to complete the external works. Including kerbing, footpaths and car parking areas, using our expert in-house surfacing team.
This project required close cooperation with the main contractor and other sub contractors due to the high volume of works by various trades being completed in a restricted area on a fast track programme.
Councillor Ros Mill said: "The centre looks amazing and provides fantastic facilities to help people of all ages and abilities keep healthy and active”.
"We've had a lot of positive feedback already from residents and sports clubs who are keen to be able to get in and use it."
