The 4,500m2 site has a capacity 49.99MW of battery storage. It consists of seven E-Houses, 27 inverters and 150,000 lithium-ion battery cells. It is connected to the nearby 400kV substation.
Working for British Solar Renewables, Ovenden Allworks undertook the enabling works constructing bellmouth entrances into site and the connecting site access roads, plus the site top soil strip and surface water drainage system.
We constructed the concrete foundations for the E-Houses, inverters and battery units, plus over 1km of trenching for the cabling and earth nests.
Finally we prepared lifting plans and executed the placing of the 10 tonne units onto the foundations and finished by dressing the site with gravel to provide a clean site with safe access for maintenance.
