These works included the trenching works through for the power to run across the 83 hectare site, these consisted of a network of over 17km of interconnecting trenches drawing 70 MW of power from over 160,000 panels. This has the capacity to power over ten thousand homes and the new military training college on site with clean energy.
Some of the other works Ovendens completed included construction of a bund to keep the solar farm discreet to the surrounding areas and worked closely with the residents to achieve this, all of the concrete works for inverters and footpaths to name a few.
There were many other trades working on the busy site and this required close cooperation with other subcontractors from all over the world to complete this unprecedented project, plus the work was completed to a tight time frame, which increased the need to work tightly to our works programme.
