The works included the removal of the existing water managing structure that had fallen into disrepair and the installation of a new structure with a prefabricated tilting weir.
This was completed by installing steel sheet piles across the water course, and then fixing the prefabricated tilting weir to the centre of the piles. A walkway with a handrail was fabricated on site.
One of the main challenges faced during this project was managing the need to maintain the flow of the water course throughout the works. A temporary cofferdam was constructed, allowing the water level in the works area to be controlled using pumps.
